Shooting Incident


LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur - On April 27, 2019 at about 2:30 PM, a shooting incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.  

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Jerome Inso Y Gumansay, 24 years old, single, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, he was shot twice using caliber 357 revolver by suspect identified as Redentor Elloric Y Tarosa, 46 years old, married, Barangay Tanod member, and resident of Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim sustained one (1) gunshot wound on his upper right chest and was brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City for medical treatment, but was declared dead around 3:50 PM of same date by the attending physician Dra. Merasol Ann Pacencia. 

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim believed to be under the influence of liquor allegedly got wild, armed with a hunting knife and roamed around at Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur when suddenly shot by the above-mentioned suspect.

At about 4:00 PM of same date, Hon. Fernando Rollo, Barangay Chairman of Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur appeared to Labangan MPS and surrendered the living body of the aforementioned suspect and turned-over one (1) unit caliber 357 revolver with three (3) live ammunitions and two (2) fired cartridge cases of same caliber used by the suspect. 

The suspect is now temporarily detained at Labangan MPS detention cell, while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.

Alleged Burning Incident on Election Campaign

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (April 15, 2019) - On April 15, 2019 at about 7:30 AM, The person of Police Lieutenant Colonel Mohiden Maulana Balimbingan (Retired), 65 years old, married, resident of Brgy. Tapodoc, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur and a Candidate for Sanggunian Bayan in Labangan Municipality under PDP-LABAN Party.

Personally appeared at Labangan MPS informing that their three (3) Political Ads/Billboards installed/mounted along the National Highway of Brgys. Tapodoc, Upper Sang-an and Balimbingan, all of Labangan municipality were intentionally burned by unidentified suspect/s.

Acting on the said report, PNP personnel of Labangan MPS led by PLT Fernando Osayan Ordeniza, Officer In-Charge, proceeded to the reported place of incident to verify the veracity of said report and conduct investigation. I

nitial investigation disclosed that the incidents possibly happened at dawn of this date based on the revelations of some residents near the location where the Political Ads were established.

PNP personnel of Labangan MPS in coordination with the Municipal COMELEC Officer are conducting follow up investigation of the incidents.
