3 Vehicles Collided in Road Crash Accident

LABABGAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (Dec. 27, 2018) - Motor vehicular traffic accident occurred along National Highway of Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:38 PM of December 26, 2018.

The accident was involving the the following vehicles:

1.   Isuzu Truck color white/red bearing plate number RFY 487, registered under the name of JYP Hauling Services Inc. and driven by Joven Jumaran Eguia, male, 22 years old, live-in and a resident of Sto. Niño Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte was accidentally hit/ bumped into.

2.   Isuzu Dump Truck, color yellow bearing plate number JEF456, driven by Maximo Cabasag Gatab Jr., male, 27 years old, and a resident of Sanito, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay and

3.   Toyota Innova, color gray bearing plate number YKG 371, driven by Gerrybell Patalinghug Porio, male ,38 years old and a resident of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Initial investigation revealed that both vehicles were traversing the National Highway (Isuzu truck and dump truck from Ramon Magsaysay to Pagadian City) and Toyota from Pulacan to Aurora Zamboanga Del Sur and upon reaching at the vicinity of Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur particularly at the downgraded area, the Isuzu truck lost its brake and accidentally hit/ bumped into dump truck and Toyota.

       

After the impact, the passenger of Isuzu truck 13 years old and a resident of Nabilid, Roxas Zamboanga Del Norte sustained physical injuries and immediately brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City for medication. Both vehicles incurred severe damages.

Likewise, the layout of 150 meters of Forty eight (48) core areal fiber optic cable of Globe Telecom with estimated value of Twenty four thousand pesos (Php24,000), three (3) electric meters and one electric post were also destroyed caused by the above-mentioned incident.

Accomplishment Report on illegal Quarry Operation

LABANGAN, Zamboanga Del Sur  (Dec. 16, 2018) - PNP elements Labangan MPS deputized by Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted police operation against Illegal Quarrying at Purok Lawag, Barangay Tawagan Norte, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:00 AM of December 15, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the confiscation of four (4) unit trucks, to wit

a.   One (1) Unit Isuzu Forward Truck, color white, bearing plate number YGU-935, driven by Dean Baterna Sabado, 42 years old, male, married and a resident of Purok Liwliwa, Brgy Tawagan Norte, Labangan, ZDS owned and registered under the name of Alexander Tumala, of legal age, male, married, businessman, and a resident of Urro street, San Francisco District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur ;

b. One (1) Unit Hino Ranger High Side Dump Truck, color blue, bearing plate number MGF-443, engine nr H07D-A126507, chassis nr FC3HCA-15875, driven Rey Ranera Dots, 44 years old, male, married and a resident of Brgy Purok 1, Brgy Sta. Cruz, Labangan, ZDS and registered under the name of Alexander Tumala, of legal age, male, married, businessman, and a resident of Urro street, San Francisco District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur;  

c. One (1) Unit Fuso Fighter Dump Truck, color white, bearing license plate number RML-382, engine no. 6D15-320132, chassis no. FK416E-50528, driven by Nestor Muños Dinglasa, 54 years old, male, married and a resident of Brgy Sto. Niño, Pagadian City, ZDS owned and registered under the name of Alexander Tumala, of legal age, male, married, businessman, and a resident of Urro street, San Francisco District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur ; and

d. One (1) Unit Isuzu Elf Mini Dump truck, color green, without plate number attached, engine no.4HF1-145483, chassis no. NPR66G-7102251, owned and registered under the name of Edwin Martinez, of legal age, male, and a resident Alta Tierra, Brgy Napolan, Pagadian City, ZDS, and driven by Jimboy Tilawan Pantalan, 32 years old, male, married, and a resident of Purok Waling-waling, Brgy. Napolan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

All mentioned vehicles were caught on the spot (quarry site owned by Emmanuel Cagampang aka “Jojo Cagampang” located at Purok Lawag, Tawagan Norte, Labangan, ZDS) being loaded with aggregates (Sand).

The total volume of confiscated aggregates loaded in four (4) trucks is estimated to Twenty (20) Cubic Meters with an estimated value of 12,000 pesos at the price of 600 pesos per Cubic Meter. Said confiscated trucks are now in the custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition.

Wanted Man Arrested

LABANGAN, Zamaboanga del Sur (Dec. 5, 2018) - Combined elements of 902nd Maneuvering Company of RMFB9 and Labangan MPS conducted operation against wanted person at about 05:00 PM of December 4, 2018 at Purok Kalipapa, Barangay Combo, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of the suspewct identified as one Mohammad Salibo Cua, 20 years old, single, and a resident of said place.

The ssuspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest under Criminal Case No 14042-2k18 issued by Hon. Romeo T. Descallar, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 19, 9TH Judicial Region, Pagadian City for the crime of Grave Threats. Bail recommended for the temporary liberty of said accused is hereby fixed at Php 100,000.00. 

Subject is now temporarily detained at the Custodial Facility of this station while waiting for the issuance of commitment order from the concerned court.

Subject is now undergoing Booking Procedure at Labangan Municipal Police Station.

Accomplishment on illegal Quarry Operation

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 4, 2018) - On December 3, 2018 at about 5:30 PM,  PNP elements of Labangan MPS duly deputized by Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted Illegal Quarrying Operation.

The operation was resulted to the apprehension of One (1) unit Fuso Truck/Ten wheelers dump truck bearing Plate Number ECO-7759, owned by Eduardo Ambohot, of legal age, male, married, construction contractor, a resident of Purok Esmeralda, Brgy San Jose, Pagadian City and driven by Dennise Lafable Albaracin, 42 years old, driver by occupation, married, and a resident of Prk Opo, Brgy Balintawak, Pagadian City.

Arrested person was caught on the act driving the above-mentioned vehicle loaded with eight (8) cubic meters sand taken from Labangan River particularly at Brgy. Tawagan Norte, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur without permit to transport and Delivery Receipt.

Arrested person was released after interrogation while mentioned vehicle was confiscated and now under the custody of Labangan MPS for proper for disposition.

Shooting Suspect Arrested

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 22, 2018) – The Combined PNP elements from 902nd Maneuver Company of RMFB9, Labangan MPS and Regional Intelligence Division 9 successully arrested the suspt of shooting incident during the conduct of hot pursuit operation at Barangay Camanga, Tukuran Municipality, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 2:00 P.M. of November 21, 2018.

The operating team identified the arrest asa certain Alham Ayub A.K.A. "Badoy," the suspect in the shooting incident on Nov. 20, 2018 at Purok 3, Upper Campo Islam, Labangan Municipality, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 7:00 P.M.

The victim was identified as certain Tanana Maulana (wounded and hospitalized).

Suspect was successfully arrested and apprised of his constitutional rights at aforementioned place and now undergoing documentation at Labangan MPS. 

Widow Arrested for the Crime of Frustrated Murder With Arson

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 10, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Guipos MPS, Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and Labangan MPS successfully arrested the wanted person during the conduct of jointpolice operation on wanted person at Purok, Pamintaran, Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga del Surat about 8:30am November 10, 2018.

The operating team identified the arrested wanted personasIrenia Himagan Pangate, 67 years old, widow and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Dalapan, Guipos, Zamboanga Del Sur

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Frustrated Murder with Arson under criminal case number 6776-2k3 issued by Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 20, Pagadian City, dated June 19, 2003 with recommended bail bond of Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php200,000.00).

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of Guipos MPSfor proper disposition. 

Man Arrested for Illegal Possession of Explosives

LABANGAN, Labangan Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 7, 2018) – The PNP elements Labangan MPS arrested the person of Rex Odin Y Lopez, 38 years old, male, single, jobless and a resident of Brgy. Maloloy-on, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur for illegal possession of explosives.

The suspect was apprehended through Checkpoint Operation along National Highway, Barangay Upper Campo Islam, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:30 PM of November 6, 2018.

Confiscated from the actual possession of the said suspect was one (1) HE Hand Fragmentation Grenade.

The said suspect is now in the custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition.

RA 9262 Violator Arrested in

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (oCT. 22, 2018) – The Police Operatives of 902nd Maneuvering Company, 903rd Maneuvering Company, Labangan MPS, and Malangas MPS, conducted joint operation against wanted person at Purok 3, Brgy. Bagalupa, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:00am of October 21, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of the suspect identified as Anselmo Montilla Y Jancan, 51yrs old, Male, Laborer, and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Bagalupa, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was warrested by virtue of Warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Judge Josefino P Bael, Presiding Judge, RTC, Imelda, 9th Judicial Region, Branch Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay for the crime in violation of the RA 9262 docketed under CC IM-3-0510 which was issued on August 24, 2014 with Twelve Thousand (Php12,000.00) pesos bail bond for his temporary liberty.

Said person is under the custody of the Labangan MPS for proper disposition. 

Man Arrested in Labangan for the Crime of Grave Threats

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 23, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Labangan Municipal Police Station conducted police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 10:00 AM of October 22, 2018 at Purok Kalipapa, Barangay Combo, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Badruddin Mamasalagat Hasim, 40 years old, married, and a resident of Purok Kalipapa, Brgy. Bokong Combo, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for crime of Grave Threats with Criminal Case no 14042-2k18 issued on October 9, 2018 by Honorable Judge Romeo T. Descallar, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 19, Pagadian City, with a recommended bail of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php100,000.00) for his temporary liberty.

The accused is now in the custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition.

Hacking Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 21, 2018) - Hacking incident transpired at Purok Manga, Nuburan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 AM of September 19, 2018.

The victim was identified as Jenalyn Gabrillas y Rebundas, 30 years old, live-in, housekeeper and a resident of said afore-said place.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed, prior to the incident, the victim was walking together with her daughter going to Nuboran Elementary School and upon reaching at the vicinity of Purok Manga of the said place particularly beside the creek one identified suspect Jaime Onding y Licayan, 48 years old, farmer, married and a resident of same place followed her.

He was armed with a bolo and after heated conversation the suspect hacked the victim and immediately fled towards to his home.

Victim sustained one hacked wound at the left portion of her head and brought to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center for medication while the suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to the Brgy.

Chairman of Nuboran, Labangan and was properly turned-over to Labangan MPS for proper filing of the case.

Likewise, the bolo with a measurement of 16 inches long that was used in the commission of the crime was also turned-over to this station for proper disposition. Motive of the incident is believed to be personal grudge.

The investigator PO3 Cristopher M. Omamos with cellphone number 09101605319 is now preparing a case of Frustrated Homicide against the suspect.

Shooting Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 21, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Greenfield, Old Labangan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur 10:00 AM of September 16, 2018. wherein

Victim noticed that the said suspect ran inside his house and right thereafter went outside already armed with High Powered Firearm (M14 Rifle) and there and then said suspect shot the victim several times without hesitation which the victim prompted to ran away for his safety.   

Fortunately, victim was not hit and successfully escaped from the brutal attacked from the suspect while the suspect fled unseen direction after the incident. Motive of the incident is personal grudge.

P150K property damaged by Fire Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 14, 2018) - Fire incident transpired at the SSBN barracks inside the camp of 1st Infantry Tabak Division, Camp. Major L Sang-an, Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:00pm of September 12, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted, with an interview with CPL Luis B Salarda the person that first noticed the blaze disclosed that at the time the fire caught his attention it was already in fully developed stage that he can no longer pin point the exact location of the origin or where it really started. All he can do is to inform his superiors and find a way to contact the fire station for assistance.       

With the hasty response of the Tabak Fire Brigade and responding Pagadian City Fire fighters the incident was declared under control at about 7:45 pm of same date and was totally declared fire out at exactly 8:05 of the same date.

Property loss amounting to more or less One Hundred  Fifty thousand Pesos (Php150,000.00) to covered the worth of the building and one unit M16 ripple with  360 rounds of ammunitions and a laptop computer without incurring any casualty. Cause of fire still under investigation by the City Fire Marshall.

Motor Vehicular Traffic Accident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 10, 2018) - Motor vehicular traffic accident transpired along the National Highway of Barangay Lantian, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:12 AM of September 8, 2018.

The accident were involving vehicles:

(Vehicle “A”) the Rural Transit (Mindanao) Inc., with Bus Nr 9050, color red/white bearing a plate nr KVU 601, driven by Edison Auman Baliguat, 34 years old, married, Bus driver and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Katipunan, Ramon Magasaysay, Zamboanga del Sur and

(Vehicle “B”) one Isuzu Truck Elf (Mini Dump Truck) color white bearing a plate number RNX 558, driven by Romeo Olivar Malmis Jr., 24 years old, married and a resident of Sapa Anding, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboagna del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted, vehicle “B” was travelling national highway Pulacan, Labangan, Zambaonga del Sur going to Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur and upon reaching at the place of incident, the said driver of vehicle “B” accidentally lost control the steering wheel and bumped/hit towards the vehicle “A” while in route from Pagadian City going to Ozamis City.

The accident was resulted to the damages of both vehicles and injured the driver of vehicle “B” and the passengers of Vehicle “A”.

Passengers of Vehicle “A” identified as Vergilio Del Castillo, 77 years old a resident of Alta Tierra, Napolan, Pagadian City and Simeon Pomicpic, 43 years old and a resident of Danlugan, Pagadian City brought to Mendero Hospital, Pagadian City.

The Driver of vehicle “B” was in Pagadian Doctors Hospital and his companion Jeremy Benting, 36 years old and a resident of Lapayan, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte brought to Mendero Hospital at Pagadian City while the driver of vehicle “A” unharmed.

The two vehicles are now in custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition.

1 killed in Stabbing and shooting Incident in Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur

LABANGAN, Zambo. del Sur (Aug. 3, 2018) – One person was killed Stabbing incident occurred at Barangay Binayan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:30 PM of August 3, 2018.

PO3 Jennifer E. Buco, case investrigator said that in their initial investigation conducted disclosed, that prior to the incident at around 7:30pm of said date the victim identified as Pedilino Andilab y Canonyo, 46 years old, married, Barangay Tanod member and a resident of same place was walking going to their Barangay Hall to render his duty when waylaid and stabbed several times by unidentified suspect/s using hunting knife.

PO3 Buco added that the victim was hit on his chest caused the latter to fell down, suspect/s not contented of the fatal stabbed wounds suffered by the victim, attacked and shot the victim in closed range with the use of undetermined caliber of firearm hitting on the right side of his head which exited on the left side causing his instantaneous death.

The cadaver of the victim is now lies at his residence. Motive of incident is believed to be personal grudge. (By JONG CADION)

Bludgeoning Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (July 27, 2018) - A bludgeoning incident transpired at Purok Uno, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 1:30 PM of July 25, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed, prior to the incident at around 1:30 in the afternoon July 25, 2018, the victim was alone in her house while the suspect suddenly came and forcible attempt to rape the victim. 

The victim resisted against the evil motive of the suspect until they fell down to the ground and the suspect struck the head of the victim several times using a hammer that cause of her instantaneous death.

Victim was identified as Sharon Corpuz Y Rivera, 36 years old, married, housewife, and a resident Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur. There and then, the suspect immediately fled after the incident and went to his relative to surrender.

The suspect identified as Jomar Braga Y Orot, 20 years old, single, jobless and a resident of same place is in custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition and a case of Murder is filed against the suspect.

The cadaver of the victim now lies at Gamalinda Funeral Home, Pagadian City. The motive of the incident is rape.

Combined troops seized assorted firearms ammunition

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (July 6, 2018) –The Joint PNP elements of Labangan MPS, CIDG-Zamboanga Del Sur and Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Forces Company conducted search and seizure operation (Service of Search Warrant) at the residences of the two suspects.

The two suspects identified as SonsongaSalik y Jandal and DaudSalik Y Cortez both located at Purok 4, Tapodoc, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur on July 13, 2018 at about 5:30 AM.

The operation was made by virtue of Search Warrants No. 51-2k18 and 52-2K18 issued by Hon. Dennis P. Vicoy, Executive Judge, RTC 9JR, Multi-Sala Station, Pagadian City dated July 11, 2018.

The joint operating teams confiscated the following items, to wit:

1. OneUnit M-16 Rifle with SN 9056990;

2. One Unit Shotgun without serial number;

3. Three pieces Long Magazines for cal. 5.56;

4. Two pieces short magazines for cal. 45;

2. Seventeen pieces of live ammos for shotgun;

3. One Bandolier for M-16 rifle;

4. One Unit cal. 38 revolver without serial number;

5. TwoUnits unserviceable cal. 38 revolver without serial number;

6. Four pieces of live ammunition for cal. 38; and

7.Twelve pieces ammunition for Carbine M1.          

Further, no items were seized from the house of Daud Cortez Salik during same implementation of search warrant and subject target person SonsongaJandalSalik was not around during the implementation of said Search Warrant while mentioned confiscated items are now in the custody of CIDG-Zamboanga Del Sur for disposition and formal filing of appropriate charges in court.

Implementation of Search Warrant at Labangan

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (July 1, 2018) – The joint PNP personnel of CIDG-Zamboanga Del Sur, Provincial Mobile Force Company and Labangan MPS conducted police operation (Service of Search Warrant on June 30, 2018 at about 3:00pm in Barangay Combo, Labangan municipality of this province.

The operating troops conducted a Search the residence owned by the suspect identified as Badria Kiram Y Mamasalagat at Purok Talipapa, Barangay Combo, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The SW No. 50-2K18 was issued by Hon. Dennis P. Vicoy, Executive Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Multi-Sala Station, Pagadian City for violation of R.A. 10591 “An act providing for a Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition”.

The operation resulted to the seizure of the following items:

One unit M16 Armalite Rifle with deface serial number,

Two pieces long magazine for Caliber 5.56,

Nine pieces short magazine for caliber 5.56,

One Hundred Ninety rounds of live ammunition for caliber 5.56 and

One bandolier.  

Subject person of the Search Warrant was at large during the operation. However, the searching officer together with the two witnesses Barangay Officials of Barangay Combo, Labangan of this Province found and seized mentioned items inside the room as described in the Search Warrant.

Confiscated items are now in the custody of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Zamboanga del Sur (CIDG-ZDS) for proper disposition.

Rape Suspect Arrested in Labangan

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (June 5, 2018) – The operating personnel of Labangan Municipal Police Station successfully arrested the rape suspect during the conduct of Law enforcement operation Tuesday at about 3:30pm in Purok Matinabangon, Barangay San Isidro in this municipality.

The police identified the suspect as Danilo Tagala Tingtingan, 40 years old, male, married, famer and a resident of the said place.

The suspect has standing Warrant of Arrest for the crime of (5) five counts Rape with Criminal Case Number 13838-2k18, 13839-2k18, 13840-2k18, 13841-2k18 and 13842-2k18 issued by Hon. Analyn F. Ramas-Contanilla, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 22, 9th Judicial Region, Pagadian City with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty. The warrant was issued on April 27, 2018.

Subject person is now temporary detained at Labangan MPS lock-up cell while waiting commitment order from issuing court.

3 Suspects killed in Hot Pursuit Operation in Labangan

On May 12, 2018 at about 3:30 PM, shooting incident, particularly in front of Jonathan Salang Magdadaro’s residence located at Purok 2, Barangay Noburan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim identified as Carlos Arapoc Matas, 61 years old, male, married, and resident of Purok Fatima, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City, more or less seven (7) unidentified gunmen shot several times using M16 rifle, caliber 45 pistols, and caliber 9mm.

As a result, victim sustained several gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body that resulted to his instantaneous death, while suspects immediately fled the scene after the incident.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene are fifteen (15) cartridge case of 5.56 mm, two (2) cartridge case of caliber .45 pistol, one (1) undetermined deformed slug, one (1) cartridge case of caliber 9mm and one (1) live ammunition of caliber 9mm. 

Joint PNP personnel of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO together with the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Zambo Sur PPO, Provincial Mobile Force Company and Labangan MPS and elements of 53rd IB conducted at about 5:00 PM of same date, hot pursuit operation, Philippine Army responded at Barangay Dipaya, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operation resulted to more or less six (6) hours of firefight which led to the death/neutralization of three (3) suspects identified as:

-Butchoy Abdul (KIA) legal age, and resident of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, Recovered from his possession one (1) unit caliber 9mm with one magazine of same caliber;

-Bakar Inok (KIA) legal age, and resident of Barangay Lower sang-an, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur (No firearm recovered) and

-Salik Tabina (KIA), legal age, and resident of Barangay Bulanit, Labangan Zamboanga del Sur, Recovered from his possession one  unit KG9 with two magazine of same caliber.

One person wounded identified as Arnaiz Alam Kabaro a.k.a. “kabeb" Recovered from his possession one unit M4 without Magazine, legal age, and resident of Barangay Lower Sang-an, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur who is now temporarily confined at Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center.

While on the side of the PNP/AFP operating troops, PSI Aiko R Tesoro, Deputy Chief, Provincial Intelligence Branch was wounded on his right arm and was rushed to Hofileña hospital of this city and subsequently brought to Ozamis City hospital for further treatment.

Subject firearms are now under the custody of Labangan MPS for proper disposition.  PNP personnel from Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) conducted crime scene processing. Investigator is PO2 Welito C Nuena, with cellphone number 0910-7571-250.

Shooting incident and Hot Pursuit Operation in Labangan

Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Noburan, Labangan Zamboanga Del Sur At about 3:30 PM of May 12, 2018 wherein victim was identified as Carlos Arapoc Matas, legal age and a resident of Purok Mahayahay, Dao, Pagadian City. 

Four (4) unidentified suspects using cal. 45 pistol and cal. 5.56 M16 rifles base on the fired cartridge cage recovered from the crime scene shot him to death.

Suspects fled onboard a single motorcycle, towards the directions of Barangay Langapud, Labangan Zamboanga Del Sur wherein PIB personnel of ZSPPO and 53rd IB, Phil Army immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation.

Upon arrival at Barangay Langapud, Labangan Zamboanga Del Sur a fire fight ensued and as a result thereof, Two (2) unidentified suspects were neutralized and wounding PSINSP Aiko R Tesoro, Deputy, PIB, ZSPPO.

Broadcaster killed in Labangan Shooting Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur (May 12, 2018) – A broadcaster was killed in a shooting incident transpired at Barangay Noburan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 03:30 PM of May 12, 2018.

Upon receipt a report PNP personnel of Labangan MPS proceeded to the place of incident to verify the veracity of the report and to conduct initial investigation.

Investigation conducted at about 4:30 in the afternoon of the same date the responding team found the dead body of victim identified as Carlos Arapoc Matas, legal age, resident of Purok Mahayahay, Dao, Pagadian City. Four (4) unidentified suspects using cal. 45 pistol and 5.56 m16 rifles base on the fired cartridge cage recovered from the crime scene shot him to death.  

Suspects fled towards the directions of Barangay Langapud, Labangan Zamboanga Del Sur with the use of Single MC. Motive of incident still undetermined. (By Jong Cadion)

1 wounded, 3 survived in Labangan ZamboSur Shot-out

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (May 9, 2018) – One wounded while three others were survived in ambushed transpired at Barangay Langapod in the municipality of Labangan of this province Tuesday at 4:10pm, Police Official said.

Labanga Municipal Police Station Chief of Police PSINSP Joel M. Galleriana disclosed that a certain Mohamidin Dimatinggal Alam, 24 years old, single, and resident of Purok Dimatinggal, Lower Sang-an of the said municipality. He reported to this Police Station and put into record that the group of Mr. Carlos A. Matas at said place ambushed him. The victim sustained gunshot wound on his left armpit that he decided to abandon his single motorcycle (Racal) and single motorcycle DT owned by his companion Amerudin Alamand.

In the related incident, initial investigation conducted also disclosed as per testimony of Carlos A. Matas, Samuel C. Patajo and Sannyboy E. Tepura that they were allegedly waylaid by single motorcycles riding individuals at Purok Tundan, Langapod, in the said town and fired shots unto their vehicles (Army Jeep) fortunately none of them were harmed. The suspects fled to different direction after the incident.

Responding police operatives recovered from the crime scene Six cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol, one cartridge case of nine 9mm and Two slugs of undetermined caliber of firearm while the army jeep had seven bullet holes most of which came from behind and subject for bullet trajectory examination.

Police Officer brought the wounded person to the hospital for medical examination.

PSINSP Galleriana said that both parties were accusing against each other and decided to file appropriate charges before the court.  

Labangan MPS still conducting a follow-up investigation to gather more evidence. The motives believe to be political in relation to the forthcoming election, the Chief of Police said. Investigator is PO2 Welito C. Nuena. (By JONG D. CADION)
